[sdv-wg] SDV Hackathon Chapter Three - 2025 - Call for Coaches!!

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all having a great week so far and that you're ready to take a big important topic into your thinking process for the upcoming few days: The SDV Hackathon Chapter Three!

We have already started the Prep phase for this year's Hackathon and as part of this Prep phase, we have launched a call to action to all our project leads - nominating hack coaches.
However since this process is going so slow, I am now coming to our entire SDV Working Group Community and calling all of you to action: Please volunteer to be one of this year's Hackathon Coaches!

Here's some extra information about this year's event:
- it will be held in 2 locations: Berlin (Germany) and Porto (Portugal) --> so please keep this in mind when nominating coaches, as we'll need them in both locations
- it will take place between the 30th of September and the 2nd of October, for 3 days. The event has been marked in the SDV WG Community calendar already as "Save the date: SDV Hackathon Berlin+Porto"
- it will have 3 challenges instead of 6 like last year or 8 like two years ago.
- the Hack MCs will be Andre Bott (Bosch) - in Berlin, and Christian Heissenberger (EF) - in Porto.

And some extra information (pre-requisites) for being a Hack Coach:
- you would need to have advanced knowledge in at least one of our Eclipse SDV projects --> being an expert / committer on at least one of our projects would be ideal
- you would need to have at least general information / knowledge on other Eclipse SDV projects
- you would need to know and follow the principles of Open Source
- you would need to have good mastery of the English language as that is the language in which the event will be held.

Once you have decided to be one of our Coaches this year, please fill in your details in the 2025_SDV_Hackathon_Coaches file so we can contact you as soon as possible and establish the regular meetings for defining this year's challenges.

The deadline for coaches registration for this year is the 7th of July! So please make sure you put up your name on the list before that date!!

Once all the coaches are confirmed and established, I will call for an intro meeting with all of them and then I'll leave them in the very capable hands of Andre and of my colleague, Christian, to work together on defining the challenges.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me or my colleague Olga, whom I've included in this email.
Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to hearing back from you all soon!

With thanks and kind regards,
Dana
