Re: [science-iwg] Eclipse Science Logos
 |

Yepp, Ian was right. The designer might not know what GC/MS, GC/FID,
    GC/GC/FID, GC/GC/MS, MS/MS ans so on means. Here's a hopefully
    better description and a screenshot:

ChemClipse is an open source framework for chromatography/mass
spectrometry. Chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques are
widely used in the area of food safety, quality control and
forensics. Due to the high selectivity of the instruments, small
traces of organic material can be detected. As an example, a few
microgram of e.g. a T-Shirt are suitable to analyze whether the
shirt consists of pure cotton or if it's a mixture of cotton, nylon
and other syntethic fibres. The chromatographic separation enables
the analysts to calculate the content of a specific ingredient. Mass
spectrometry as a detection technique, allows to identify the
    specific ingredient, e.g. nylon.

Hopefully, this better explains what I'm respectively ChemClipse is
    doing.

      Hi Torkild,

thanks for your efforts. ChemClipse would like to get a logo.
Here's a short description and some keywords for the designer:

ChemClipse is an application to analyze chromatographic / mass
      spectrometric data.

      - analytical chemistry
      - chromatography
      - mass spectrometry
      - GC/MS, GC/FID, GC/GC/FID, GC/GC/MS, MS/MS
      - trace analysis

        Hi
          all,

I’m pulling together a list of requirements and
existing logos for all the Eclipse Science projects. As
discussed earlier, we will attempt having logos crated for
your projects in an coordinated effort. I’ve been trying to
find logos for those projects I know already have one, but
it seems that we need to clean up a bit. For instance ICE
appears to have two logos [1][2].

Please send me your logo file if you have one,
if you don’t and want to have one created, send me a
description for the artist to use when designing.

          Best regards,
          Torkild
