found a solution and made it run for redView:

runtime:
* created an own feature including all riena plug-ins from M6b2
using this in my target platform definitions

IDE:
* created two features:
- one with all riena plug-ins needed for redView designer Editor
- another one with some riena plug-ins needed for the toolbox, which
are not used by redViews designer editor
*** now without installing RAP into the IDE ***

so - all works finally using latest I-Builds from Helios
will provide an I-Build - based installation for redView users soon -
followed by the M7 installations if available

thx again to all

just tried again with flo,

but the pushingpixels bundle is problematic.
the TargetPlatform knows the bundle from our directory.
verified that.

adding the M6b2 (or M6b)
while trying to resolve P2 reports MD5 Hash Error with pushingpixels

I have one workspace where it works using PushingPixels from my
directory

if anyone has an idea why this happens or against which component I can
report a bug - would be great

otherwise I would use my one running installation and build an own
feature with all the riena bundles from M6b2 in the meantime
so there's a workaround - no problem, no trouble - only want to ask if
there's an easier solution

also did a test:

- installed redview designer with riena in IDE (using rieena bundles
from M6b2 site)
- tried to install the Riena toolbox (doesnt work - P2 couldnt install,
because of dependencies with different version numbers)

solution: build an extra feature for redview - only containing
o.e.r.toolbox, o.e.r.ui.templates, o.e.r.ui.wizard.cs)

now I was able to install redView Designer together with Riena Toolbox
into the IDE

so the only small problem was the pushingpixels bundle

in the meantime there was much more work on Bugzilla 306279 and more....

thx to christian who again spent much time and (on late friday evening)
built a new updated updated update site ;-)
      http://download.eclipse.org/rt/riena/2.0.0.M6b2/update/
--- NOW MY USE-CASES ARE WORKING :)
no more RAP in the IDE

thanks to all helping on this - I'll blog later

I'm getting a small problem with the M6b2 (and also M6b) updatesite if
using this in the Target Platform:

an error was reported about pushingpixels (...MD5Hash not as
expected...)
see attachment

then I went back to another installation and put the pushingpixels into
a directory,
added this one to my TP definition, and made it running

then Flo did a new installation - also has the pushingpixels plugin
from the directory
(see 2nd entry from screenshot .../dir4target 1plug-in)
but again P2 reports the error while resolving the TP

--
my question now: does anyone know against which component I should
report a bugzilla about this problem ?
I dont know who's responsible for pushingpixels bundle

I'm also wondering, because its the same version of pushingpixels as
before,
why suddenly such an error happens
(OSX, SDKM6 + I-Build 20100423)

thx

hi christian,

T H X providing this updatesite - this will help us much.

also thanks to the P2 team and all others helping to fix Bugzilla
306279.

I'll do tests with the updatesite together with the newest
I-Build20100420-0800

@all-redView-users reading this list: expect new installation
instructions, update-sites etc. after the weekend

          Hi Rienaers,
for all people that are struck by this p2 problem where it fetches optional packages, in the Riena context you install Riena and it fetches RAP, there is now a solution in p2. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=306279
You need to find the latest Nightly build from Eclipse SDK (20100419 and higher). You also need an update site of Riena where all Riena bundles have RAP as greedy=false defined.
I know of Ekke who needs this most. Its possible that not many other people need this, but I post it on the riena-dev mailing list anyway. This is an intermediate update site, that we keep to allow testing until M7 is out.
The URL of this intermediate update site is http://download.eclipse.org/rt/riena/2.0.0.M6b/update/
Its the build from last night with no guarantee about stability but all bundles should have the correct metadata for p2. It requires however that you have the newest nightly build of Eclipse SDK.
If you are confused :-) or have any questions, let me know....
