Thanks. I was able to install that way. Anyway this seems a bug in m2e with latest JDK. It fails to discover the catalog.

if it is really the Tycho connectors (and m2e is for some reason not
smart enough to figure that out), you can manually install the
connectors from the m2e Marketplace: Hit Ctrl+3 and enter "m2e". From
there you can install all kinds of m2e connectors.

Once the connectors are installed, running "Maven > Update Project" from
the context menu shoudl fix things.
