Thanks a lot for providing all this information. Unfortunately, we don't support E4 RCPs now, our runtime strongly relies on compatibility layer and old workbench API. Support of E4 RCPs is one of our main themes for our 2.0 release, the corresponding issue is here – https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=441067
