I have no objection, and I think https://git.eclipse.org/c/e4/org.eclipse.e4.ui.git can be a good home for this.

But that doesn't remove my technical questions and concerns. I'd rather see people investing in making the existing editors progressively mroe e4-friendly that starting an experiment. I believe the former workflow has better chance of success, and some work will need to be done there at some point anyway, unless you want to start forking a whole pure-e4 Platform (which would require a more massive and dense investment to have any chance of success).
