Re: [paho-dev] Changing author of the C++ Git Commit

Thanks Mike. That was my next port of call... I just thought I would throw the question out there to see if I was missing something.

When I added the C++ code to the repo last autumn, I didn't set the author on the commit (I was just learning). I've learned how to correct this in my local history, but I'm not allowed to push the changes to the repo, even with a force. I'm always asked to merge the changes and get a combined history.

Any thoughts on the best approach? If I could get a history which showed me correcting the author of the initial commit, I would be happy with that. Or I could get the repository reinitialized and start again (the only other commits are my adding of legal docs).

Just a suggestion, but you may want to ask the webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx team for help. Those guys have some serious git foo.
