Hi Dominik,
that's would be great - definitely interesting for Paho. The more
the merrier as far as I'm concerned, although collaborating could
produce results quicker.
At IBM, we've done some work on an SWT version of the proposed
interface, hopefully so it would work in the Eclipse IDE as well.
How does JavaFX compare with other user interface technologies for
Java?

I also like the color matching very much.
FYI: I started a prototype GUI similar to the IBM proposal. Will
publish it on Github soon. It's implemented in JavaFX and uses
Paho as MQTT library. So if anyone had similar plans, it would be
great to join forces :) Maybe this could be interesting for the
Paho project itself?

Hi,
This popped up on twitter and seems relevant to the discussion:

I very much like the matching of message/subscription background colour.
Cheers,

Thanks for sharing the screenshots and design thoughts on the wiki, handy. I
spoke about and demo'ed the GUI at JAX London yesterday, it would be nice to
see it looking more modern.

Hi Roger,
I'd assumed the message viewer window was to show more detail about the
message than could be shown in the lists. I'll ask.
I could comment on details about the design probably forever, but I
thought I'd let someone else have a go :-)

Hi Ian,
Looks reasonable, I'm sure that could be implemented for all clients
with only minor tweaks. I'm happy not to have to worry about the
design myself!
What is the point of the message viewer window?
Cheers,
Roger

Hi all,

I've asked to look at updating the Paho Java MQTT client utility with
all
the latest features. I've added their proposed screens to a Paho wiki
discussion page: https://wiki.eclipse.org/Talk:Paho/GUI_Utility.
The current utility is my very quick port of the old IBM IA92 MQTT
client
GUI. We also have the Eclipse MQTT client view. It would be nice to
have
all GUIs looking the same, using as much of the same code as possible...
but that might be too much work.
Please comment here, or on the wiki.
