[osgi-wg] OSGi Working Group Elections Announcement - Call for Nominations 2026 - 2027
|
The OSGi Working Group Charter identifies the Steering Committee and Specification Committee as the key governing bodies to drive the facets of the working group for which there are elected positions to be filled.
While Strategic Members are appointed to the committees, two seats are designated for Participant Member Representatives. As there are only two Participant Members, the election will be conducted for the following position:
One Committer Member Representative
Through this email, we are announcing the Eclipse Foundation will hold the election on behalf of the working group using the proposed timetable listed below:
Nomination Eligibility:
Committer Members
Committer Members are those who are engaged in projects under the purview of the working group. Committers may be considered members by virtue of either a) being employed by a working group corporate member, or b) an individual committer who has executed the Eclipse Foundation Membership Agreement in order to attain the rights, privileges and obligations of a Committer Member. If you are interested but unsure if you are a committer member, please reach out to us and/or learn more here.
Time Commitment
In terms of time requirements, most committees meet on a bi-weekly basis for a one-hour conference call.
Elections Schedule:
June 1 -11: Call for Nominations
June 15: Announce Candidates Standing
June 17 - 26: Ballots Distributed (Voting Period)
June 30: Announce Election Results
Nomination Process
Nominations can be made by any member of the working group (including self-nominations) by sending an email to this mailing list.
Please indicate which committee the nomination is for. You can also nominate for both the committees.
Nominees are strongly encouraged to include a short bio highlighting their relevant experience.
If you are nominating someone else, please confirm that they are willing to stand for election.
Note; Each Member may have at most one individual stand for election to any particular committee.
Election Process
After the nomination period closes, the list of candidates will be confirmed and announced.
The election will follow the Eclipse Foundation's "Single Transferable Vote" method, as outlined in the Eclipse Foundation Bylaws.
The winning candidates will be announced on this mailing list after the voting period closes.
