Dear friends of AI regulation compliance,
For Monday's kick-off (4 pm CEST) we will have quick statements from
four people to get the discussion started:
I'll open the call with formalities.
Michael Berns (TBC), (Eclipse's Head of AI) can only join for the
first minutes, so he'll briefly talk about Eclipse's various AI
projects. This is important because we have to coordinate the
regulatory work of ORC and other work of EF groups on AI topics.
Sharon Corbett (Eclipse's Program Director, Industry Collaborations)
will give a details on what a Special Interest Group is, and she'll be
there if there are organisational questions.
Dave Russo (Red Hat, and Lead of this new ORC AI SIG) will present
ideas on the direction this SIG could take, and will start the
discussion of what we can achieve. I'll also make a few comments to
get this started.
Juan will also be there as the top ORC expert, and will surely
intervene to help us learn from ORC's work on CRA compliance.
For topics:
* Short term: work on AI Act standards (prEN18282), consultations on
high-risk AI, and another on the research exemption
* Coordination questions: working on CRA - AI Act interaction,
discussion of tools (important for this SIG, but also for other
groups in EF)
* Scope: What will people expect this group to produce? (e.g. given
the profiles of the participants, what would the ecosystem be happy
to receive from us? Beyond AI Act compliance)
* Longer term (1-year vision): What whitepapers or other publications
are needed? What regulatory topics are important beside the EU AI
ACt?
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday,
--
