Dear Open VSX community,
The Call for Proposals for Open Community Experience 2027 (OCX27) is now open. OCX27 takes place 13 to 15 April 2027 in Brussels, organised by the Eclipse Foundation.
Developers choosing IDEs, extensions and AI coding tools will be in the room, and the Modern software development track has a day on tooling ecosystems. The program committee is looking for sessions such as:
- IDEs and extensions, and bringing many tools into one workflow
- AI assistants and agents in the developer's toolchain
- Developer platform strategy
Running a vendor-neutral registry also raises questions of trust and independence. Talks on extension supply chain security fit the Cybersecurity & regulatory compliance track, and talks on keeping developer infrastructure open and independent fit the Digital autonomy & technological sovereignty track.
The committee wants talks grounded in real experience: a working implementation, a lesson learned the hard way, or practical knowledge other teams can use. First-time speakers are welcome.
Early bird deadline: 9 November 2026.
