Re: [openk-platform-dev] Project organization (was: Re: Workshop minutes

Hi Dirk,

thanks for your input!

We had to start on a BTC internal git-repo since the eclipse environment could not be provided when we startet. The eclipse environment has been set up lately and we are going to move to their git very soon. When this is done I will put the link to the git-repo on the project website.
The access to the code will be provided by the eclipse platform. Possibly they will offer a link to browse the code without installing a git-client. Anyway, my experience has shown that everybody interested in code has a git client.

We are still far away from a release candidate and the technical details are being implemented. As we proceed with the implementation I will provide more technical documentation. You find some technical documentation on the website of the Working Group openKONSEQUENZ.

Betreff: [openk-platform-dev] Project organization (was: Re: Workshop minutes

Hello everyone,

I suggest the following:

1. Put a link to the code repository onto the main project page (web browseable, no git clone should be necessary)

2. Put a link to the project wiki (page) onto the main project page

The "project links" sidebar on the project home page seems to be the best place for this.

3. Put meeting minutes and other organizational issues onto the wiki (and not into git)

Here is my reasoning: I'm trying to track development but find this rather difficult.

I did not find an obvious place with a link to the code repository. (I had to go back to the announcement email. I think a place on a wiki or on the main project web page would be better.)

I was not able to browse the content of the git repository using a web browser; I had to clone the repo; I doubt that everyone who is legitimately interested will install git?

I'm also hoping to find appropriate documentation on the wiki or linked-to from the wiki.

Thanks!
Dirk
