The Call for Proposals for Open Community Experience 2027 (OCX27) is now open. OCX27 takes place 13 to 15 April 2027 in Brussels, organised by the Eclipse Foundation.
Work on device operating systems has a home in the Software-Defined Systems & Mobility Track. The program committee is looking for sessions such as:
- Operating systems spanning microcontrollers, cockpits, gateways, and any kind of smart device.
- Hard real-time work on open source
- Functional safety and security with open toolchains
Please note that interoperability between open device platforms, and reducing dependence on a single vendor, also fit the Digital Autonomy & Technological Sovereignty Track, which looks at how open technologies reduce critical dependencies.
The committee wants talks grounded in real experience: a working implementation, a lesson learned the hard way, or practical knowledge other teams can use. First-time speakers are welcome.
Early bird deadline: 23 October 2026.
