Matthias, we are moving the EGit GitHub connector into Mylyn. WDYT?

This was implemented to support moving Eclipse project's git repos from git.eclipse.org to GerritHub.

Ah, that looks great—the best of both worlds. Let me know if you need help moving to GitHub. Can GerritHub import the existing history from Eclipse?

Are you maintaining the GitHub tracker in EGit? If not, then do you know who does?

It's currently unmaintained and we stopped shipping it when Mylyn stalled after it dropped from the release train. 
The source code repo is hosted on Gerrit:

We plan to migrate all JGit/EGit repos to GerritHub where we can use a combination of Gerrit for code review
and github.com for issue tracking and browsing.
