Re: [mpwg] Eclipse Enterprise Modeling Day

Bran and Sebastien,

IMO this makes sense but only if it is presented from the perspective of how it will leverage the proposed modeling platform (i.e., as an exemplary tool built on services from the proposed architecture)...

I would like to support this request. In our current analysis of available Eclipse-based modeling tools, Papyrus is emerging as the only viable open-source tool for UML-based modeling. Given that, as Sebastien says, UML is the dominant modeling language. I don`t think that a modeling tools showcase without a UML tool would be fully convincing.

Dear Iann,

UML is the defacto standard for modeling, and Papyrus is the Eclipse modeling tool for UML2. So I do think it would be nice to present Papyrus at this modeling  days. I can do it.

What do you think?

Best… Sébastien.

All,

We have decided to organize an Eclipse Enterprise Modeling Day on October 28.  UBS has kindly offered to host the event at their offices in Zurich.  The main purpose of the event is to introduce the Eclipse Modeling Platform and general Eclipse modeling technology to organizations that might be interested in using Eclipse for enterprise modeling.  More details are available at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_MDD_Day

All the participants in the Eclipse Modeling Platform working group are welcome to attend.  However, the target audience is for senior technical people who want to find out more about Eclipse and modeling.  Therefore, if you know of any organization or individual, please feel free to invite them.  My hope is that this event will help recruit new organizations to the potential collaboration on the modeling platform.

Regards,
Ian
