I'm not sure what you mean. An alternative to moving? An alternative
to moving right now?
There's no metadata specified for VIATRA2, so I don't have much
insight into the project state.
Is there ongoing development? Is the single committer, Daniel,
active?

Dear Istvan,
Thanks a lot for the precision.
It appears that Frederic Jouault is on a sick leave since
several months with no planned date yet for office return.
@Wayne: is there an alternative way to proceed in that
specific case concerning the VIATRA/M2M situation?
Best regards,
Hugo

Dear Hugo,
as far as I know, Daniel contacted Frederic
Jouault about moving VIATRA2 to M2M a while ago, and we
haven't received any feedback yet.
best regards

Discussions started in fall 2011 about future
plans concerning each one of the GMT
sub-projects.
As far as I'm informed, the latest status
is the following:
-
VIATRA2 - To be moved
- Targeted project has to be contacted,
to be managed by Daniel Varro (any more
recent news?).
- AMW - To be terminated
-
Relevant content has to be migrated into
M2M-ATL before, to be managed by Marcos
Didonet Del Fabro (docuware ready);
- UMLX - To be terminated
- Relevant content has to be
migrated/merged into M2M/QVTd before, to
be managed by Ed Willink (docuware
ready);
- Epsilon - Already moved to EMFT;
- GEMS - To be terminated;
- MOFScript - To be terminated;
-
OMCW - To be terminated;
So I guess we can plan an actual date for
the review(s) as soon as we have more
information from the VIATRA2 side.
It may be simpler from a process side to
then move the concerned project's content
and globally terminate GMT at the same time
(e.g.; during the Modeling "clean-up" could
be appropriate as said by Kenn).
Best regards,
Hugo

I assume that you mean
figuratively removed. To literally
remove these projects from the list,
the projects will need to be
terminated and archived.
Do you have a timeframe for the
restructuring?
Note that termination or restructuring
review documentation need not be
particularly complex or wordy
documents; you need only describe what
needs to be done (e.g. identify code,
bugs, CQs, etc.). If it makes sense
for the project and community, all
this can be done with a single review
(or however many separate reviews make
sense).
Let me know how I can help.

Hello,
Concerning the
Modeling-GMT projects and
sub-projects, they could be
removed from these lists as
they will be terminated or
are moving to other projects
(potentially taking the
opportunity to switch to Git
at the same time).

Greetings
Modeling PMC.
As you should
hopefully already be
aware, the Eclipse
Foundation has
declared a shutdown
date for CVS of
December 21/2012.
Several Modeling
projects are still
using CVS. The list
of projects,
generated based on
information provided
in project metadata
via the developer
portal, is available
via the project
status page.
http://eclipse.org/projects/tools/status.php?top=modeling&cvs=1
Note that this link
shows a filtered
view of Modeling
projects that have a
CVS repository.
Can you please
ensure that the
projects listed on
this page have a
plan for migration
before the cut off
date?
Also note that the
status page includes
a liveliness
indicator. Some of
these projects may
be candidates for
termination or
consolidation.
Note yet some more
that several
projects currently
have SVN. We will be
deprecating SVN in
the near term; these
projects should
start thinking about
migrating soon.

Let me know if I can
