Why:
GitHub Repo Names, Namespace and Maven coordinates must follow an intuitive, synced naming convention to not introduce technical debt, which creates friction to the use, further development and maintenance of the specs.
At this point, there is no consensus on the (future) namespace of the MP Specs, when transferred to the Jakarta EE Working Group (JEEWG).
Any change is a breaking change here, even when there is some support from GitHub to limit the extent of it.
I.e. deprecated MP Specs could make use of the existing repos under control of the JEEWG to allow Service Releases to patch security issues too.
So no need to do that now or at all.
