While removing the Working Group membership requirement could increase the number of implementations, it was the final incentive to join the Working Group. Becoming or staying a member of the Working Group now has no advantages anymore for any company.

+1 (Red Hat): Red Hat believes that a more community-oriented approach is appropriate as it does not require Working Group membership. We believe that community-oriented branding is possible that reflects passing specification TCKs without infringing the MicroProfile trademark.

RESOLVED, the Steering Committee confirms that the MicroProfile working group will operate without a MicroProfile compatibility program and will not develop and utilize a Compatibility logo for use by compatible implementations of MicroProfile, and instead will allow any implementation that can make bonafide claims of compatibility in accordance with the Eclipse Foundation Specification Process to be listed and linked to as a compatible implementation on its webpage.
