Oracle believes that a compatibility and branding program should be part of the specification working group program. We believe that this helps build the strength of the brand and provides customers assurance that compatibility and the brand go together. We would prefer that effort be devoted by this working group to build a brand that could be strong enough that vendors will have sufficient incentive to apply for and utilize the brand marks. We also believe the current program helps build the strength and diversity of the working group through vendor participation requirements and incentives.

RESOLVED, the Steering Committee confirms that the MicroProfile working group will operate without a MicroProfile compatibility program and will not develop and utilize a Compatibility logo for use by compatible implementations of MicroProfile, and instead will allow any implementation that can make bonafide claims of compatibility in accordance with the Eclipse Foundation Specification Process to be listed and linked to as a compatible implementation on its webpage.
