Amelia,
Now that I sent out the new ballot, I now better understand where the miscommunication came into play.

In your statement, "All designated members of the Steering Committee shall be granted read/write access to this drive, it's folders and all contents. The access to unauthenticated users shall not be allowed.", "The access.." was referring to explicitly "The write access.."  

I read this as "all access", not just "write access", but also "read access".  Thus, the confusion with the ballot.  With this new ballot, not only did I explicitly call out the non-write access for unauthorized users, I also tried to emphasize the publicly viewable access for all of the data in this Community folder.

Let's hope that we can finish up this new ballot in short order and move onto more fruitful endeavors...  :-)  Thanks!

I know this ballot has been confusing.  Our apologies for that!  But, I talked this over with Amelia (and Rudy) and I volunteered to rescind and start a new vote with the proper wording of the resolution.  With this note, I am officially canceling the previous vote for our MP External Drive.  I will wait until tomorrow morning to start a new 7-day ballot just to give a calendar break and, hopefully, alleviate even more confusion.  I will try very hard to get the wording correct on this next ballot...  :-)

To approve and ratify making public-view the MicroProfile (external) Drive, the Steering Committee Representatives vote is requested.

  1. The MicroProfile working group makes the following documents and files available in this public repository:
     "    MicroProfile (external) -> Community"
  2. The MicroProfile working group establishes the shared-public repository, under the Eclipse Foundation Google Drive, for maintaining documents and material it deems suitable for public access. 
  3.  All designated members of the Steering Committee shall be granted read/write access to this drive, it's folders and all contents. The access to unauthenticated users shall not be allowed.
Additional information:This ballot will be 7-days, ending on Feb. 19th.  The ballot requires a Supermajority positive vote of the Steering Committee members. There is no veto. Community input and Community votes are welcomed. However, only the votes delivered by Steering Committee Representatives will be counted.
