Hi Benoit,

in comparison with the standard type selection tool, a completion-based (CTRL+space) type selection is much faster.

I'll be in favor for making Auto-fill type 2 default (many types have a common prefix with respect to their qualified name which makes type 1 not very practical). You still see the full name in the menu showing the matching options.

To test it, you need to get  the plugin [2] in your workspace and test it in your runtime.

As a matter of fact, you will see 3 editors:

- Classic Type

- Auto-fill Type 1 (auto completion with qualified name)

- Auto-fill Type 2 (auto completion on name only)

(The one presented in [1] is Auto-fill Type 2)

 

The plan would be to change it in January, it will let until 16 March 2018 (M6 [3]) to decide whether to keep it or not.
