[jubula-dev] Sprint kickoff 24.01.2012

Hello!

Between the last sprint finishing and this one starting, we've had a week's break because of an in house training course. The last sprint saw us welcome the following new features and fixes:

- We've fixed various bugs - a list of all bugs marked as fixed in this sprint can be found here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?list_id=228637;classification=Technology;chfieldto=2012-01-20;query_format=advanced;chfield=resolution;chfieldfrom=2011-12-06;chfieldvalue=FIXED;product=Jubula

- We added a new action for storing properties on graphics componets

- There is a new extensible adapter mechanism for Swing components:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=351926

- The database migration assistant has been deactivated and we did some cleaning up to remove dead code.

- The completeness check has been refactored, resulting in fewer issues in this area. Remaining issues should be easier to fix and new features easier to add in the future.

- We have done a lot of work on increasing our test basis for our actions for RCP and SWT applications, and have made preparations for increasing our GEF tests.

- The keyboard input problems that occur under Mac / Indigo RCP applications should be fixed in the Juno release. There is an open ticket with SWT for this:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=363309

In the new sprint (24.01-20.02.2012), we've got the following exciting things planned:

- We'll be adding support for using functions as test data. There will be some default functions included in the distribution, and the mechanism will be extensible so you can add your own.

- We'll be adding decoration to the Test Case Editor and Test Suite Editor so you can easily see if test data is missing from the Test Case you are currently working on. We'll also add decoration to the Test Case Browser for missing test data so that such problems can be seen and fixed before adding Test Cases to a Test Suite. (#363702)

- We're continuing with the addition of more tests for our HTML actions, GEF actions, and SWT/RCP actions

- We're starting to run out of "night" in which to run our tests, so we'll be splitting up our test execution to separate functional tests from tests for our actions.

Best regards from the Jubula Team and,
Alex Schladebeck
