Our decision is motivated by the recent release of Jetty 12, which notably includes support for javax.servlet – a crucial component extensively utilized in our legacy codebase.

Specifically, I would like to inquire whether a straightforward version bump suffices, or if there are any potential caveats that we should be aware of. Despite our attempts, we have encountered difficulties in the migration process thus far.

The migration guide from 11 to 12 is here:
https://eclipse.dev/jetty/documentation/jetty-12/programming-guide/index.html#pg-migration-11-to-12

Upgrading from 9.4 to 12 is not a version bump: there are a lot of
changes across 3 major versions, in APIs and Maven artifact names.

Webtide, the company that provides support and services for Jetty, can
help you in the migration.
