So removing the branch up to date check would be one big step forward.
So no objections on that?

As for moving to Eclipse infra. We have to upgrade to a JIPP first as
Hudson does not support building PRs (hence why we had to use travis
in the first place as Jenkin is new).

GitHub is certainly a lot less mature than I realized, compated to
gerrit. The UI is much prettier, but the functionality is missing so
many key parts. For example, this bring up to date thing in gerrit is
implemented much better. I also think it is rather amusing that if
someone make a PR against January, it gives me the ability to modify
*their* fork.
