Re: [jakartaee-platform-dev] [jakartaee-spec-project-leads] Add Concurrency 3.0 to Web Profile?

Hi,

I'm very much in favour of having Concurrency in the web-profile. This definitely belongs in the same foundational group as CDI, Validation and Security. I hope that one day we might be able to remove Enterprise Beans Lite from the web profile. Today is of course not that day, but bringing in Concurrency is the first step.

Kind regards,
Arjan

+1. I am very much in agreement. I see Jakarta Concurrency as a critical piece to superseding EJB Lite and properly enabling important concurrency facilities like CompletableFuture in a CDI aligned way. At least the case for inclusion into the Web Profile seems fairly sound.

Jakarta Concurrency provides developers with the ability to use Java concurrency style primitives  Managed Executors, Managed Threads, Scheduled Executors etc. safely within a Jakarta EE container including propagation of  required Jakarta contexts to the different thread.
