• Jakarta EE 12 Update [Jared Anderson]

• Discussions continuing on read-only transactions
• Run MicroProfile namespace ballot in Platform dev vs. spec committee mailing list
• Different voters: Platform committers vs. spec committee representatives
• Concerns mentioned about distribution of committer representatives in the Platform list (IBM majority)
• If run in Platform committers, would the spec committee still get the final say?
• Yes: Spec committee has the power to vote against a release based on the content - we don’t just ensure the process is followed
• >From the charter:
• Define the specification process to be used by all Jakarta EE specifications, and refer to it for approval by the Steering Committee.
• Ensure that all specification expert groups operate in an open, transparent, and vendor-neutral fashion in compliance with the specification process.
• Approve specifications for adoption by the community.
• Approve profiles which define collections of specifications which meet a particular market requirement.
• Work with the Eclipse Enterprise for Java Project Management Committee (EE4J PMC) to ensure that the specification process is complied with by all specification projects.
• Due to lack of quorum, discussion to be continued on the mailing list, with a ballot to be started in the subsequent week.
• Ongoing tracking spreadsheet of specifications progressing through the JESP specification version lifecycle
• Progress reviews for Jakarta Config and RPC still overdue.
• Config approaching two years overdue
• RPC approaching three years overdue
• Jakarta EE 11 Platform Retrospective
• Discuss action items, if any, which require the spec committee to follow up on

• Carry over from previous call: Needs to be brought up in the Platform call and/or poke projects leads via email
• Issue #86 - Simplify Compatibility Certification Requests [Ivar Grimstad]

• Ivar to reach out to understand the complaints
• Review other open issues:
• Determine which issues to label as “enhancement” and add to our board
• Close issues which are no longer relevant or have been dealt with
• Due to thanksgiving, an email will be sent to the mailing list to propose a meeting on the 19th instead and cancelling the call on the 26th. Regular schedule to resume on December 10th.
