Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Jakarta EE Specification Committeemeeting times
|
Providing alternate
times to allow for wider participation is good with me. I'll adjust
to whatever works. Those early morning timeslots shouldn't conflict
with anything else on my calendar... :-)

Tanja/all,
Thanks
for the Input and suggestion. Guess we don’t know if 12 noon was a problem
for our British participants or others like Emily who I believe joined
the call once or twice on behalf of IBM, but especially LJC was not that
active in the call anyway, so it may not get worse by that O;-)
For
me 1pm or 2pm sounds doable, although earlier in the day (than 5 or 6pm)
there is always a risk of competing conf calls with my client I may not
be able to postpone. As long as I am not supposed to be on site in their
office after the COVID situation improved drastically around lunchtime
every other week sounds fine for me as well. After that it could be a challenge
because I cannot use conf call Systems other than their own if I am on-site
and it is a little too far to go into town just for a lunchbreak, but for
the time being it would be OK for me.
Happy
Holidays,
Werner

Thanks Kenji! We will discuss on the first call in
the 2021, but I expect that both times would be acceptable (11pm
JST, 9am EST should be very easy), provided it works for all.Scott, any input from
you?Happy holidays to all!Thanks,TanjaOn

This
slot is very fine for me.
And,
two hours late time (11pm JST, 9am EST) is still fine for me.

meeting times
Tanja, and co,I am in favor of having alternative meeting
times that accommodate members in different time-zones. I wonder if once
a month is enough for folks in the far east.Looking at the respective time-zones,
I wonder if we could even do better if we held the "alternate"
meeting fixed on China/Japan time-zones -- Looking at the time-and-date
meeting planner I'd be tempted
to suggest 8 PM China, 9 PM in Japan. This would be 7 AM EST, 1 PM CET
-- until summer when US and Europe would move to an hour later. Both these adjusted times would probably
preclude Mountain or West Coast time zones in the US but someone's in the
dark, no matter when this is scheduled. (Plus, Dmitry would continue to
provide quorum support for Oracle.)Would this displace other member organizations?Just a thought.-- EdOn

Hello members of the Specification Committee,as we are having couple of members on
the committee who are struggling with the meeting time, Kenji for years
and Scott for a while now, I would like to have the group consider alternating
or even changing the meeting times. To start with we could alternate times
like this1.
keep the first meeting of the month at the current time
and have the second meeting at 7am PD / 10 am ED / 11PM CT / midnight
12 am JT
Kenji, Scott, please comment if this would even work
for you or you'd have other suggestions and then I would welcome others
to make suggestions as well.Best Regards,Tanja--
