Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] No "build" button?
|
Werner,It's a manual
process to change the name of the build. You click on [View Build
Information] and modify the information by hand. For example, my test build
that I did yesterday (#88). Here's the url for the [View Build Information]:https://ci.eclipse.org/jakartaee-spec-committee/job/promote-release/88/configureIf I change the
DisplayName to "wombat 2.0", then the #88 get changed. If I change the
Description, then it modifies the description field underneath the build
designation.There's no direct
correlation between the DisplayName (build name) and the artifact you are
promoting. You could put "Jakarta Mail 2.0" as the build
name, if you wish.

I
used Upper case first letter because the previous labels said Things like
" CDI 3.0" or "Activation 2.0" but the internal parameter
was actually "cdi" or "activation", so where did the
mixed case come from?
My
build job now changed ist label to "mail 2.0“ lower-case, so how
did the others turn into mixed case if the artifact name was also passed
lower-case?

Excellent!
So, which case-sensitive name are you referring to? Was this
a user error or is there something in the scripts that could be improved?

Looks
like it’s working now, I don’t think it depends on the browser, but the
case-sensitive name.

Yes,
the Github user is backed by that email address.
I
can try in Edge, no Firefox installed at the moment.

Werner,
Are you using this id? werner.keil@xxxxxxx
When do you get this "no valid crumb" error? When you click
on the Build with Parameters button? Or, after you fill in the parameters
and submit the build? If it's the former, then it looks to be an
issue with Jenkins (although I just tried it and I can get past this point).
If it's the latter, then what are you using for the parameters? For
Mail 2.0, the parms would be mail, 2.0, https://download.eclipse.org/ee4j/mail/tck/eftl/jakarta-mail-tck-2.0.0.zip
I'm using firefox. Have you tried other browsers to see if it makes
a difference?

I
have the build with Parameters button, but when I tried to use it for Mail
I got this error:
HTTP ERROR 403 No valid crumb was included in the request
URI: | /jakartaee-spec-committee/job/promote-release/build |
STATUS: | 403 |
MESSAGE: | No
valid crumb was included in the request |
SERVLET: | Stapler |
Does
this Sound familiar and what’s necessary to avoid it?
Does
crumb have anything to do with cookies? The "remember me" cookie
does work in Chrome, so that doesn’t seem to be a problem.

As far as instructions for establishing proper credentials... I think this
is an outstanding item that needs to be addressed. I ran into a few
of the Spec Committee mentors that were not Committers on the Specifications
repo. From talking with Tanja, it sounds like the EF has a running
checklist for the processes that need to be done with changing members
to the Committees (since EF has the ability to assign permissions). We
will need to add this jenkins job as well.

I can't see meaningful activity on the issue Ivar filed. Do we need to
escalate? I suspect that this was put together in a non-standard way since
there isn't a "project" for the Specification Committee and most
of the CI resources are allocated/provisioned around Eclipse projects.
An alternative might be that Kevin and David (I don't know if others are
also provisioned) can run this final promotion step.

BTW is there an instruction sheet someplace?

Shouldn't there be a "build with parameters" button? If not,
how do I kick this job off? I suspect I am registered as a user, but that
I don't have sufficient permissions to kick off builds. I can definitely
see things when I am logged in, that I cannot when I am not logged in,
I just don't see a clear way to kick off a build. When you browse to that
page, do you see a "build with parameters" button?

Hi,
The finalization process requires the mentor to use the CI job to promote
the TCK from it's staged location, into the final normative location. When

Are there permissions that I (and possibly others) need, to finalize the
TCK? Where might I check to see who has these permissions and determine
if others need to be added to this permission list as well? (Or, is there
another way this is supposed to happen?)
Thanks,
