Hello Tanja, Thanks for sharing. Good to hear, given at least two of the new Vendors that are Jakarta EE compatible come from China and e.g. in the JCP a more recent EC member Alibaba is also Chinese. I know Emily from IBM certainly speaks Chinese. Hopefully non of the embargoes or plans to hit China by the Trump Administration affect this, Jakarta EE or Eclipse Foundation, but I guess moving from a US registered Business entity to an EU Based non-profit in Brussels also makes Eclipse Foundation less dependent and more resistent to such influence ;-) Werner From: Tanja Obradovic Hello All, as you are aware - our valued Enterprise Member Primeton is very interested in increasing Jakarta EE presence in China. They are working on organizing an affiliated organization - users group with the name Jakarta EE Community China, that will be formed by various individuals and organizations interested in Jakarta EE. The focus is to do all the communication and work in Chinese so we can get vast Java developer community additionally engaged with Jakarta EE. One of the key objectives is to ensure vendor neutrality. Right now, I would like to invite all members of the Jakarta EE Working Group Committees to please reach out to your Chinese speaking Java and Jakarta EE developers help out and sign up and help form this organization. I plan to shortly send a similar email the community list as well. For everyone interested to be involved, here is the form in Chinese to sign up and show interest! (For us who do not speak Chinese here is an English version just to give you an idea of what is on the form) The next step would be for the group to form the vendor neutral leadership team and build a website. So please reach out to your Chinese speaking Java and Jakarta EE developers and help increase our presence in China.
