Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Any requirement on the use of the JVM for certification?

If it is not in here:
https://jakarta.ee/committees/specification/tckprocess/

or any of the TCK user guides, it is not a requirement. I don't remember there being any such requirement.

Hi,
I thought for Jakarta EE 8 that we had a requirement to use either the Oracle JDK or OpenJDK+Hotspot for our Certification requests.  This was due to our continued usage of the javax.* artifacts.  But, I can't find that documented in either our TCK Process or the Operations Guide.

The reason I was looking was because I wanted to remove that requirement since we're moving to the jakarta namespace now and, thus, this requirement should no longer be in place.  For example, if somebody wanted to certify using OpenJDK+OpenJ9, that should be allowed now with Jakarta EE 9 (and beyond).

If I was dreaming up this Hotspot requirement, just let me know.  But, if this was a requirement and it was documented somewhere, can a reference be provided so that I can get this updated?  Thanks!
