[jakarta.ee-spec.committee] JakartaOne Livestream status and CFP

Hi All,

as you are probably all aware Eclipse Foundation is organizing JakartaOne Livestream as one day virtual conference on September 10th, a week prior Oracle Code One.  The idea is to have Jakarta EE 8 release available no later the that date, so we can announce of Jakarta EE 8 and make an even bigger impact with the release  on the Oracle Code One.

Here is what we have so far:

Program plan (very high level, still)

  • 1 hour Opening keynotes with theme Jakarta EE 8

    • Three - four keynotes (each 10 min long) talking about Jakarta EE 8 release and implementations certified on Jakarta EE 8

    • The keynote speakers: beside Mike Milinkovich's keynote, the plan is to invite leads of the be companies who will have Jakarta EE certified products

  • 2-3 blocks (4 hours each block)

    • 3 hours talks
    • 1 hour of one of the following
      • Panel with invited speakers from the steering cmte answering Q&A or prepared questions / messages we want to share with the community
      • Demos
      • Debates on a particular topic (eg Jakarta EE 9, road map, ...)

  • 1 hour closing keynote - present a fun project built using the Jakarta EE / Java EE / MicroProfile technology.

Immediate ask for all WG members

  1. Can you please invite your teams to submit their talks for JakartaOne Livestream? CFP is open now.

  2. Can you please help promote the conference via your channels?

in addition to the above asks I would like to invite Steering / Specification Committee members
  1. To save the date and be available on September 10th for the very short opening keynote to talk about their compatible implementations of Jakarta EE 8
  2. To be available to take part in panels / discussions / debates
