I guess it may never be improved or touched then, and for that Bill’s assessment that unchanged specs can keep the „javax“ should apply.

Unless the CDI authors find a huge Need to fix or improve any of the core annotations like @Inject, @Named, etc. they should be able to do what’s needed in the new Jakarta CDI (or Jakarta Contexts if that really sticks?) Namespace and Project.

That's a good question that I've been asking for years!

I think someone on the PMC was going to contact Bob Lee and/or Rod Johnson to find out if they were willing to transfer ownership or contribute it directly.
