Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great summer, or are still enjoying some time off.
The Embedded World Conference, in partnership with the Eclipse Foundation, is inviting proposals for a special Eclipse Session at Embedded World 2027, taking place March 16–18 in Nuremberg, Germany. The deadline for submitting abstracts is September 28, 2026.
The theme for the 2027 session is "Building Trustworthy Open Source Embedded Systems in the Age of AI Agents".
Why Present?
If you were already planning to attend the conference, presenting is an excellent way to showcase your work and provide visibility to your organisation at no cost. Additionally, selected presenters receive a free pass for the conference track, a significant value for those attending the show.
Selection Process
Please note that while Eclipse Foundation staff grade the talk proposals, the final decision on acceptance rests with the Embedded World organisers. We cannot guarantee the acceptance of any specific submission.
Seeking IoT & Sparkplug Focused Insights
For this session, we are specifically seeking presentations that explore the role of open source in developing trustworthy, interconnected, and safety-critical systems. We welcome talks that highlight the Eclipse IoT and Sparkplug ecosystems, focusing on topics such as:
Interoperable Connectivity: How Sparkplug and MQTT standards enable seamless communication between hardware, edge gateways, and cloud applications.
AI Agents in IoT: Using AI to assist in generating industrial code, automating device testing, managing complex requirements, or enhancing productivity across heterogeneous communities.
Trust & Security: Addressing failure modes, supply chain security, and the necessity of human oversight in AI-driven embedded environments.
Safety-Critical Deployments: Lessons learned from real-world deployments of open specifications and open source software in mission-critical industrial settings.
We encourage proposals that emphasise community-driven work, including shared tooling, open specifications like Sparkplug, and research that brings the wider IoT developer community closer together.
