The Embedded World Conference, in partnership with the Eclipse Foundation, is inviting proposals for a special Eclipse session at Embedded World
2027, which will take place in Nuremberg, Germany.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is September 28, 2026.The theme for the 2027 session is "Building Trustworthy Open Source Embedded Systems in the Age of AI Agents."
If you
were already planning to attend the conference, presenting is a great way to showcase your work and provide visibility to your organisation at no cost. Plus, the selected presenters
get a free pass for the conference track.
One important thing to remember about this CfP:
the abstracts are graded by Foundation staffers, but the talks are selected by the Embedded World organisers. We are seeking presentations that explore the role of open source in developing trustworthy embedded and safety-critical systems,
with a particular focus on the opportunities and risks posed by AI agents. We welcome talks
that cover various topics, including RISC-V hardware, embedded development practices, open toolchains, testing and debugging frameworks, safety engineering, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Proposals may discuss how AI agents can assist developers in designing hardware, generating or reviewing code, automating tests, managing requirements, analysing standards, or enhancing productivity. Additionally, submissions may address failure modes, hallucinations, supply chain issues, overreliance on AI, certification challenges, and the importance of human oversight. We encourage proposals that emphasise open source, community-driven work such as open specifications, open hardware, open source software, shared tools, research, standards, and lessons learned from real deployments.
