Greetings Eclipse ioFog committers.
Thanks for all of your support of the Eclipse ioFog project over the years.
I have to ask a difficult question: is this project still active?
AFAICT, there has been no commit activity in any project Git repository in more than one year. There are several pull requests that have (AFAICT) had no attention from the project team.
Are there any committers who are still active? Is there anybody on the team who can review pull requests?
I have a community member who is ready to step up, but they cannot build the necessary merit required to join the project as a committer if their pull requests are not reviewed and merged.
If the existing project team can no longer support the project, then the EMO will work with the Eclipse IoT PMC to determine a corrective course of action. In a situation where a project team is no longer able to support the project, a common mitigation is to declare the project dysfunctional and replace the team with new committers and project leads.
My strong preference, of course, is for the project team to engage with their community and grow the team following our usual open, transparent, and meritocratic processes.
I've added the IoT PMC in copy. PMC members: let's give the team a week or so to respond and then we can discuss mitigation options if required.
Thanks for your attention.
