Hi Kai,
I’ve asked the Edje team to drop a note on this mailing list but haven’t been successful. I agree with you it is an important aspect of an open source project to have that discussion on public channels. Here’s a short excerpt of a recent mail conversation with the project leadership:
"Hi Benjamin
As committed, I've asked the team if we could move faster on the Edje project to deliver some code (and do the follow up, both in the eclipse project and within our product line). They did not see how to fulfill the requirements in the coming weeks. So I guess the conclusion is that Edge will never get out the Incubation stage ... This is unfortunate. All the work previously done is not lost, and I believe we will make it soon live again. […]”

After some discussions off-list, it would appear that the best course of action at this point will be, unfortunately, to archive the Eclipse Edje project.
While I generally trust your assessment of the project, Benjamin, I find it hard to support a request to archive/shut down the project without any details of the "off-list" discussion being shared. Maybe you can forward relevant mails to the PMC members directly, if they are not suitable for being posted here (which I would actually prefer for reasons of transparency). Benjamin -

Hi,
It would appear that the Eclipse Edje project is not actively maintained (last commits in Feb. 2017 [1]) so I was wondering if the project is still alive, and what the plans for the future of the project are (there doesn’t seem to be a public project plan at https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/iot .edje)?
Thanks in advance, Benjamin -
