Now assuming all these great third party plug-ins are up on the Eclipse

be awesome to see from eclipse.org.

I do not know if this is technically possible. My guess is that if it's in a p2 repository, it can be done. But that's a question for Eike.

But given that we already deliver content from Marketplace to the workbench via MPC, I do not see why this would be an issue with the Eclipse Foundation. We would want to maintain the current approach that the available content was either open source, or from Members. But other than that, it sounds like a great idea.

That’s a good point. This is just bringing the MPC content earlier in the process.

I’m sure this is all technically possible. It really looks like Eike knows what he’s doing :).

But the question will come back to who decides what goes in that list. I know Wayne is helping drive some of this. But it would be good to have a benevolent dictator or committee pick out the best packages that would be of the most benefit for as many people in the community as possible. It’s a political mine field, to say the least. And I’ll leave it at that before I say anything I’ll regret :).

Doug.
