Re: [hara-dev] Eclipse Hara roadmap and contributions

Hi Nicola,

Thanks for your email, and I hope you don't take my previous comment the wrong way. By "reactivating," I simply meant resuming development or looking to drive more activity on the project, as the last commit was back in November 2025. My apologies if I sounded otherwise.

That said, I am really glad to see this momentum. I firmly believe the project will evolve very positively now that two companies like Kynetics and Eurotech are teaming up.

Best,

Ignatio,

To my knowledge, the project was never “deactivated,” so I am not sure what you mean by “reactivating the project.”
No one reached out to us until Matteo and his team reached out to us. In the meantime, we continued to support the project within our available time and budget.

That said, we are happy about the collaboration, and we promptly responded to Eurotech’s request.

I copied Davide, our business development director (based in Los Angeles), on this thread as well, who will coordinate with Robert to support this collaboration from a marketing perspective.
We are excited that Hara got some attention and support from the Eclipse community and Eurotech in particular.

Hi Ignacio,
Thanks for checking in.

The Hara team responded, we had a very productive teams meeting (thanks Nicola again for your time and availability!) to set the stage and we have exchanged few emails defining the path forward.

We will start contributing with new PRs to the project in the next days.

Best regards,
Matteo

Hi Matteo,

I am writing to you to know if you heard from the Project Leads. I believe it's worth reactivating the project and exploring the collaboration you suggested.

Otherwise, if the team has been unresponsive so far, I would try to help you out and find ways to contribute to the project, if you are interested.

Hi everyone,
I’m Matteo Maiero, Senior Software Manager at Eurotech for the ESF project and lead for the Eclipse Kura project.

We are exploring ways to expand Eclipse Kura and ESF with improved update features. After reviewing Eclipse Hawkbit, we believe it fits our needs. During our search for client libraries to add to ESF and Kura, we discovered Eclipse Hara. Hara looks promising because it wraps the DDI APIs effectively for our Java stack.

I would like to connect and discuss the Eclipse Hara roadmap, as well as potential collaboration or contribution opportunities from the Eclipse Kura team.
Do you have a roadmap for the activities and features you plan to add or integrate? Is there a regular meeting I could attend to explore possible collaboration?

Best regards,
Matteo
