Re: [graphiti-dev] Graphiti contribution

Hi Michael,

It seems that I can't create a branch unfortunately :

But it seems possible to fork the existing repo and propose a merge request to you for technical details.

I will create a ticket to describe why we have done some modifications and notify you when it is done.

Thanks for your help :)

Hichem

Hi Hichem SAOUD,

great that you want to contribute to Graphiti! Could you share some more information what it is about?

Usually, you would create a new branch for your change in the Web UI of Gitlab at

https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/graphiti/graphiti

Use the dropdown at the button with the “+” sign right besides the branch selector. Then you can push your changes to that branch. I hope this works for non-committers as well; Graphiti is still quite new in Gitlab and I have no experience with contributions there so far. So let’s see that we make this work …

Regarding further requirements: we will need a ticket (both Bugzilla or Gitlab issue will be fine) that describes the contribution or problem it solves. Besides that you have to accept the IP rules for Eclipse contributions, if you have not yet done so or are committer on another project.

Let me know if you need help in anything.

Best regards,

Michael

Hello dear Graphiti developers,

I would like to contribute according to graphiti License since we have forked org.eclipse.graphiti.ui, but unfortunately I didn’t found a way to push a branch to graphiti gitlab directly.

Could you give us some hints about how to proceed according to your prerequisites?

If you need any more information I am of course available to answer.
