Re: [geogig-dev] GeoGig release progress

Right now those issues are in "IP Zilla" (yes that is as scary as it sounds a bugzilla full of IP tickets). I think for each rejection Tyler has been handling it (removing jgridshift as a dependency) or taking it to the appropriate community for discussion (vecmath).

There is a bugzilla here: https://locationtech.org/bugs/describecomponents.cgi?product=GeoGig

Andrew was checking if LocationTech could set up a Jira (if we would like to use that rather than their bug tracker). The guiding principle here (as I understand it) is they want a backup of the source code and issues in case a service goes dark ... normally I would laugh at this but codehaus is shutting down taking all of my geotools issues with it :(

So if geogig wants to keep using github issue tracker we will need to ask, and possibly assist with automated backup.

For those types of issues, will they be tracked in GitHub under the repo again or is another issue tracker being set up? Having all of the issues right there with the repository was very valuable.

There doesn't appear to be issue or release tracking on the locationtech/geogig repo. I'm not finding much discussion online - it seems to have died off on this list. Is most of the discussion in an IRC somewhere?

I think most of the discussion has been with the Eclipse IP team, as they chew through our dependencies. So far we have suffered a few casualties (jgrid shift) and found a bit of work to do (replace vecmath).

There is also a foss4gna workshop coming up next week.

Tyler has been closer to the action, perhaps he can provide an update.
