Re: [epp-dev] EPP 2026-06 M3
|
This is a critical situation for being able to actually do
builds. Also a critical situation for the entire ecosystem that
consumes what the Eclipse projects are producing. I'm not sure
we can cope with this for weeks.
I've mentioned the critical nature of the ongoing problem on this
issue:
https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/7469#note_7311002
I have build that stall for hours:
https://ci.eclipse.org/packaging/job/epp/job/master/
This cannot go on like this.

Hi all,
Currently, the mirrors are still inoperable in the tests
I've done since creating the release node. I've reached out to
our infrastructure team about the slowness, and we've
determined that this is primarily a side effect of the
explosion of popularity and traffic to the OpenVSX registry,
with it taking a majority of our bandwidth with our entire
allocation being saturated at the moment. We have plans in
motion to help alleviate the network burden in the next couple
of weeks, but for now this is the expected state.

Our
next milestone build is available for testing: EPP 2026-06 M3
Due to the severe degradation of the ci infrastructure
yesterday, I've
needed to make a few shortcuts to complete the process in time
to ensure
mirroring of the content. As such I've had to bypass/delay
some of the
usual steps. E.g., downloading packages for testing simply
failed
yesterday and today is proceeding at 100k speeds, so I decided
to
promote the build before the usual tests because I need to
travel for a
few hours shortly.
It is expect that Window Builder will be broken for M3:

I have been following the steps on
https://github.com/eclipse-packaging/packages/issues/441
- you can see
the checkmarks as to what is done.
