Re: [epp-dev] Stepping Down from EPP Modeling Package Testing

Please create an issue an issue that outlines what you've been testing.  I've been doing periodic tests creating an EMF project, generating it, and creating a diagram for it when testing the installer on staging versions and sometimes for milestones.

Dear EPP Community,

Back in August, I informed you of my decision to step down from my role in testing and maintaining the Eclipse Modeling Package within the Eclipse Packaging Project (EPP), effective at the end of September 2025.

As we are now well into October, I wanted to kindly follow up. I have not yet received any response regarding a successor for this role. Since the new release cycle has already started, it would be important to ensure a smooth handover as soon as possible.

Please note that my availability is now more limited, so the earlier we can begin this transition, the better support I can provide to whoever takes over. I would be glad to share the details of the current release iteration and guide the handover process, but ideally this should happen soon.

For more context, you can find the original announcement and background here:

Thank you once again for the collaboration over the years. I look forward to seeing the continued success of the Modeling Package within EPP.

Best regards,

I’ve been involved in the support and maintenance of the Eclipse Modeling Package for almost 10 years, and it has been a rewarding experience to contribute to this key part of the Eclipse ecosystem. This decision reflects both a shift in company priorities and a personal desire to explore new directions.

Working with the EPP team over the years has been an absolute pleasure - your commitment, collaboration, and dedication have made this experience both meaningful and enjoyable. Since we are at the beginning of a new release cycle, there is plenty of time for a smooth handover. I would be happy to share the incoming release details and work with anyone interested to pass on the responsibility during this final iteration - ideally before the end of September. Feel free to reach out if you’d like more information or support during the transition.

For more context on this decision, please refer to this blog post: https://eclipsesource.com/blogs/2025/07/22/end-of-maintainance-modeling-epp/
Thank you again for the great collaboration. I look forward to staying involved with the Eclipse community in new ways.

Best regards,
