I have no opinion but I can see it would be easier to do this
uniformly.
I think you'd still need to specify it per-project because only
there can you use installMode="root" such that one could uninstall
the feature:
<feature id="org.eclipse.justj.openjdk.hotspot.jre.full"
installMode="root"/>

JustJ is being successfully distributed in the main IDE packages (Java, JEE, CDT) and this change didn't cause any negative feedback from users community. And it even got some positive feedback on Twitter and some other forums I monitor, even for Java developers who can now more easily upgrade their IDE while keeping Java 8 as default on their machine.So I'm wondering, particularly for the Committers, DSL, Modeling, Parallel, PHP, RCP and Scout package; what's the reason that make you not using JustJ as well?
From a maintenance perspective, it would be much simpler to have all packages including JustJ (less duplication and maintenance effort). So if there is value to users and less cost in maintenance, why not profit?I would gladly make the change of adding JustJ everywhere if there is no objection!
