I assume it occurs on any MacOSX package. I observed it in the JDT and

I just noticed that the Java Dev package for Mac OS X uses an
incorrect path for the default workspace location. Instead of the
users home directory, it wants to put the workspace beneath the
location where the package is installed, in a subdirectory named
/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/workspace

grabbed last week didn't do this.
