RE: [epf-dev] Accomodation - RE: European Committer Meeting	inBilbaoMarch 6&7
 |
Yes.  I have received a number of very old emails as
well.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi
all,

it
seems that there're some problems at the EPF mailing lists server, as this mail
is from almost one year ago, and I didn't send any mail yesterday
:-(
Has
anyone seen any other strange behaviour like this?

Regards,
Asier Azaceta

  Hi Per and all,

you will find attached some information on a couple of
hotels I can recommend you for our meeting. If you have any doubt on these or
other hotels, or need some help, don't hesitate to ask, we will do our best to
  help you.

  Best regards,

Hi,
modified the "To" distribution list so it roughly
reflects who has indicated they will come, or I think may have an interest
in coming. Again, please let me and Asier know asap if you intend to
    come.
1) If you are not already
on epf-dev mailing list, please sign up asap. It only takes 30 sec.

2) I suggest that people do the
    following preparation before the meeting:
a) On http://www.eclipse.org/epf/, go through all the papers and
recordings under Getting Started. Note that this will take you a couple of
hours, Since many of you already have this knowlege, I think it is a waste
of peoples time to walk through it during the meeting.
b) Download and install the tool, see
    http://www.eclipse.org/epf/downloads.php
Play around with the tool as appropriate. Review BUP so you know what
is there (and maybe more importantly, what is not there!)

3) Suggested agenda items, feedback is
    appreciated:
Monday AM

      - Introductions

 - Quick walkthrough of how the project is
organized. What exists today? Who is a part of the project? Walkthrough of
      dev plan.

 - Each company walks through what they want
to contribute. The more specific you can be, the better. Ideally something
like "We would like to improve BUP in the area of MDA. We have the
following material available to use as a baseline. This would mean that we
could foresee adding this type of content to BUP <list>, " Or, "We
would like to add agile practices around team collaboration, such as
guidelines around "TDD, Information Radiators, and Office space layouts
that work" <10-30 min, no corporate pitches,
    please>

Monday PM

      - Continue company contribution walkthrough
      if not done.

 - Identify issues that needs
      discussion

 - Identify workgroups, either around
current subprojects, or around even more specific domains. If 4 committers
want to do MDA stuff, maybe they would discuss if they have the same view
of what to add. Discuss what can be done

Monday night

      - Team dinner - A key aspect of the meeting
is to network. Make sure to also leverage breaks to learn to know each
      other!

Tuesday AM

      - Discuss some of the issues raised
previous day (such as a need for more info on what it means ot be a
      committer...)

 - Continue work groups

 - Present action plans for each work
      group

Tuesday PM

      - Discuss and agree to execution. Future
      F2F meetings, weekly meetings, ...

Cheers

Hi Per,
we are delighted with hosting this meeting! ;-)
I'm
just back from a business trip and I'm having a lot of problems with my
computer, so excuse me if my reactions are a bit slow these
    days.
Sure I need help with the agenda, in fact I guess it is better
any of you leading the projects let me know what sessions you need and I
will take care of the schedule and so on. So, can you please start a draft
    agenda?
Regarding travelling and accomodation, I will send you
complete details tomorrow. Nevertheless for those needing a quick answer:
Bilbao has an international airport with direct flights from main european
cities (code BIO), ESI is very close to the airport and best option is a
taxi ride (aprox 12 to 14€). Tomorrow I will send info on the hotels. If you
need any special info, please let me know it.
Best
    regards,
Asier.

                Hi,

                  more people could do March
6 & 7 than any other date, so let's do it then. Asier / ESI, thank you
again for your generous offer to host!

I suggest that everybody sends a note to Asier, cc:ing me
regarding whether you intend to come, and how many people he should expect
from each company. This allows Asier to book a conf room of the right size.
I will post a note on the newsgroup to further advertise the meeting.

Please send Asier and me a
note if you want to help shape the agenda. Also, if you have specific
suggestions for agenda items, please let us know. I will work with Asier on
producing a first draft agenda for circulation next week, including travel
    info.

                  My list of tentative
attendees / my guess (you still need to confirm, even if below info happen
    to be correct):

      Hi Per,

                Our offer
still stands as long as we can secure the dates as soon as possible. I have
just checked and we still have rooms availability, but I don't know for how
long, and the provided date range (Feb 27 - March 17) is too broad for me to
block the resources. I could do this if it would be a couple of options (two
or three blocks of two days), but I cannot block them for three weeks
    without a good reason.

So, once decided it will be at ESI, we need to decide on dates, or at
least a couple of options, ASAP.

Regarding our attendance, we keep our numbers (3-5) and from
what I can see right now we have full availability except for March 1st.

                Please, keep me
updated on dates constraints so I can try to pre-block some dates.

                  Hi,

we have now decided that we would like to have
the committer meering in Bilbao. Asier / ESI, thank you very much for your
generous offer to host the meeting. I hope your offer still stands even if
we need to move the date.

                It
seemed to be impossible to get enough people to warrant a meeting in Feb, so
I think we should target 2 days during Feb 27 - March 17.

            1) Note that we plan to have a committer meeting
in California week of March 20 (still tentative), so pls also confirm that
you find it to be useful to have a European meeting even if it is so close
to the European meeting. My assumption is that several of you would not
attend a meeting in California (and if you want to attend both, great).

                  2) I would like to close on
a date as soon as possible, .You on this distribution list have expressed
interest, so we need to decide on a meeting date between us, and then we
provide an open invitation for everybody else once we have determined the
dates. Can each person please specify dates they can do it in March, Update
the info I have if necessary.

          *
      ESI: 3-5 people attending.

          *
IBM: 2-3 people attending (Bruce MacIsaac, Per Kroll, ?). - Any date

                *
                Catalysts (Christoph Steindl):
    March 2-3, 6-7, 9-10, 15-16 are fine

          *
      2-Pro Mentor (Sigurd Hopen):

          *
      Telelogic (?):

      *                 Softeam
(Philippe Desfray): Feb 27, 28 and March 6, 8 <what about later in
    March?>
                *
                    Method Park
    (Winfried Stenzel)

                We will
optimize agenda to maximize value to the attendees, so once we know who will
attend, we will finalize it. Expect a strong focus on working session, not
    just presentations and learning.
