Re: [ee4j-community] What about professional certifications such as JavaEE master/expert?

It seems like a good idea but please, make it practical, test real scenarios, don't come up with an exam as pathetic as OCJP where basically it is certified that the candidate is a human compiler.

This might sound a bit trivial for some given the nature of issues we are dealing with during this transition, yet, I had to ask now as I believe the naming of the platform has a significance here as well.

After the transition of JavaEE into the Eclipse Foundation who would continue to oversee the professional certifications? Currently, Oracle is awarding the master and expert certifications for JavaEE 6. I assume that the existing credentials would remain valid but I am asking about future directions considering that I could not find any official stance on professional certifications at Eclipse.

Will the JavaEE professional certification tracks (around 6 of them) be retired permanently after this transition? Has anyone at Eclipse given a serious thought on this or professional certifications in general?
