FWIW, I think last year's schedule worked really well.  We have 6 
parallel sessions that are in 45 minute time blocks but we ask the 
speaker to just use 35 minutes.   We do have more rooms this year but 
for the size of the conference, it is important to not have too many 
parallel sessions or things get diluted.
