Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Finished voting

Hi All,

For what it's worth, I strongly suspect it is from Sang Shin. He did a very similar talk for an event in New York City and it absolutely rocked. One of the better talks I've seen in some time. I asked him to submit for EclipseCon.

It does touch on JRebel tech but only after stepping through a bunch of generic techniques and showing the pros & cons of each.

It was so good, people were bringing it up the next day saying how impressive it was.

For one, I have no idea who the speaker is and there’s no bio linked to the talk. And what percentage of the community uses JRebel? With so many talks that are about actual Eclipse content, it’s hard to say I want this talk.

As an example J.

I wonder why this talk has been voted down:

It looks good to me.

Excellent. Thanks, everyone! I think quite a few of us have finished our first pass.

I just double checked with Ian and we have 63 more talks to select (2 are reserved for the executive director choices). Looking at the top 60 or so vote getters, we have a pretty good program already. We’ll need to go through and make sure everything is balanced but we’re off to a good start.

We also need to talk a look at the Tutorial situation. We need to make sure we’re in good shape there and may need additional recruitment.

At the end of Tues, I’ll send in what I see the top 63. It’ll be important to see what’s left and make sure we don’t miss anything. I’ll also report on the distribution relative to our allocation. We’ll need to make adjustments there too. Feel free to tweak your votes as we go. And gather a list of talks you think are getting under voted so we can discuss.

Reminder the next meeting on Wed and we can discuss where we are.

Cheers,

Doug.

Just a quick note to say I've finished voting on all 423 talk proposals (minus Agile/OSGiDevCon and my own talks). Now comes the realization that 2 out of every three submissions will have to be rejected!  There's lots of great content here though and I think it's already shaping up to be a great conference.
