Fred,

we (the Planning Council) haven't even
finally decided yet that there will be such a release. Also, we did not
yet decide whether this will be a Java 9 only release or whether we will
allow others to contribute. So, this might well become the Update 1 release.
Let's wait for a final decision from the Planning Council here.
