RE: [eclipse.org-planning-council] Europa Fall Maintenance still in progress?

We plan on releasing Eclipse 3.3.1.1 by the end of the week.

I'll push the updates to the Europa maintenance stream at the same time so the can be consumed by EPP or a subsequent Europa build if required.

Mylyn is not currently planning on updating our Europa Fall Update features.  However, just in case it would be good to know what the 3.3.1.1 release and EPP bundling schedule is, e.g. by adding a line to:

Hmm....

thanks for the explanation, Bjorn.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to decide about at least potentially promoting or not BEFORE we all silently update our features?
Because if we decide in the end to not promote anything in the end, quite some work will have been in vain...

I, personally, think it's a good idea to re-spin at least together with the Platform's re-spin such that we have
a full-blown New Europa Fall Maintenance in the end.

I'm also OK with re-spinning Maintenance more often, even though this makes the build non-reproducable
(what would "the maintenance release" then be after all... bug reports and the like would need to include
a date at which the build was taken).

Cheers,

I guess I should add: this is the same that we did at the beginning of July: the mechanism to re-spin the build was used, but in the end we decided not to promote it to the download site. We may choose to do the same, or not, this time.

Hi all,

there have been discussions about re-spinning
Europa Fall Maintenance -- potentially with
the Re-spin of Eclipse 3.3.1.1 that's ongoing.

I wanted to also be on the train, and updated
the features-dsdp-tm.xml with some patches
we've made in the meantime.

When I synchronized, I noticed that 10 other
projects also seem to have updated their features.

Do we have some silent agreement that Europa
Maintenance is being re-spun periodically? Or
is this a one-time special case?
I'm OK with either, I was just surprised since
we had that discussion beginning of July, and
decided at that time to not do it...

What does the Community think? Or did I miss
any decision that's been made?

Cheers,
